Rain came out of the west with lightening, thunder and high winds before the rain. After contacting my neighbor this morning who lives just east of me, he showed 1.95 inches on his gauge. My gauge had bird poop on the bottom of the funnel which might have spilled over with the hard rain but i still made the call as i read the gauge as 1.06 inches. Thanks |

Had one hell of a storm come thru hear i had not see in 40 years. Storm came in from the northwest heading southeast dropping heavy rain and hail as big as dimes or play marbles for almost 30 min. continuously. High wind like hurricane force and rain blowing side ways. Even thou 1-68 inches registered on the gauge, the ground ponds on my property max out which i had not seen in the 12 years since i have lived in this property. I believe we could have gotten 3 to 4 inches of rain but due to the high winds, was not collected on the rain gauge. Neighbor south of my station sent me damaged building which only tornado force could have cause damage. |
