I forgot to take the funnel and inner tube out, so this amount is a little low. Also, there was some wind with the snow. We didn't get any measurable moisture until the temperature was in the 20's, so my guess is that the melted core is only a couple of hundredths from the total amount. |

We started with light rain before becoming all snow. This snow came in with a little wind, so I expect the gauge didn't catch all the moisture, but I think it caught most of it. |

The drifts are up to 24 inches deep between the house and the rain gauge. The snow came in with a 15-30 mph wind, so the gauge probably only caught about half the moisture. |

This came in with a 15-30 mph wind. The gauge probably caught less than half the moisture. The new snow and total snow are guesses. Everything is either blown clear or a drift, ranging from a couple of inches to 30+ inches deep. |

The wind has rearranged the drifts. Areas that had 14 plus inches yesterday are mostly bare today, and all the drifts are in new areas. I don't know how to estimate the average depth of the snow. The drifts are really solid and dense, so there is a lot of water content. |

The total snow depth is dependent on how high the material that is blocking the wind is. The result is that the snow goes from an inch to 30 plus inches based on wind protection. I cannot guess what the average is. |

The measurement is as accurate as possible. With the light wind, less than 10 mph, I expect the gauge probably caught most of the moisture. There is a complete cover of snow, but it varies so much that I cannot guess what the actual average is. |

Most of this storm came in with only a little wind, but there was about an hour of 10-15 mph wind. I expect the gauge caught all but a couple of hundredths of an inch. The total snow is impossible for me to guess, the size of the drift depends on how tall the bush is. There is a lot of snow on the rangeland, I just cannot guess how much. |

This is an accurate measurement of what was in the gauge, but with the 10-15 mph wind the gauge probably missed 3 or 4 hundredths. The snow is only on the grassy areas, the roads are clear of snow. There is about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch of ice on the grass and bush stems. Having an ice storm is very rare for this location. |

This came in with a little SW wind, so the gauge might have missed one hundredth of an inch of moisture. While the snow measured about the same as yesterday, it is much lighter. All the trees and bushes have an inch or more of snow on each branch, and the result is very pretty in the sun. |

At times the wind blew so hard the gauge probably caught very little of the moisture, but most of the time the wind was 10 mph or less and the gauge caught most of the moisture. My guess is I missed .05 of an inch or so. A lot of the snow melted very quickly, so the 4.5 inches that I measured is probably much less than what came down. |

There might have been a trace of rain with the wind last night, but the wind blew the dust off. I looked, but did not see any drops in the remaining dust. |

This storm came in with a 10-20 mph plus wind, so the gauge didn't catch all the moisture. Most of the moisture came down as snow, but the snow was melting on the bottom when I took the core sample. The snow varied in depth from 6 inches where it was blown clear to much more in any protected spot. I think the 9 inches is close to the average. I melted the snow in the core sample by adding water, so the amount is the accurate net number from 10 different amounts. |

This came in with a 10 mph plus wind, so the gauge probably did not catch all the moisture. New snow is a guess based on what accumulated on the cleared areas. There has been a lot of melting so I did not think a core sample would provide much information. |

The snow near the gauge has finally melted. There is some snow where it is very protected or the drifts were especially deep, but those areas are 1/3 of a mile away. |
